Healthy.io has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies for 2020. The annual list honors groundbreaking businesses across a range of industries—technology, entertainment, healthcare, media, sports and more.
This year’s list features 434 dynamic businesses from 39 countries. Healthy.io is particularly honored to be among the companies in the select Top 50 list, alongside such legendary names as Apple and Microsoft, and revolutionary giants like Tesla, Spotify and Beyond Meat. We are proud that amazing fellow Israeli companies–like Intuition Robotics, SpaceIL, and others–received honorable mention in the other list categories.
“The call from Fast Company came while we were busy ramping up our kit production in support of our partners’ truly heroic efforts to Flatten the Curve. In the reality imposed upon us by COVID-19, our kits can help ease the burden on healthcare professionals and reduce unnecessary exposure for patients, in light of what has rapidly become the greatest medical challenge faced by humanity in over a century.
“In times like these, recognition that places Healthy.io alongside the legendary names that inspired me in the early days, when I left the government sector and dreamt up Healthy.io, is a massive moral boost for our global teams.
“Back in 2015, it was clear that centralized healthcare would reach its limit and an accelerated decentralization process would begin. As part of that process, we sought to pursue a mission of delivering clinical grade medical insights from a smartphone camera—so that people would be able to access healthcare from their homes with no quality compromises.
“The inherent value of our vision is clearer today than ever before. We’ll keep doing our very best during these dire times to prove worthy of being selected to this group.”
Yonatan Adiri, Founder and CEO of Healthy.io

Healthy.io leverages computer vision to turn smartphone cameras into diagnostics tools. Its app-based chronic kidney disease test, which analyzes users’ uploaded photos of urinalysis dipsticks, received FDA clearance last fall for clinical use in the U.S. (Healthy.io is now seeking approval for home use) and is rolling out in the U.K. and Europe. Its over-the-counter urinary tract infection kits are sold in Boots pharmacies in the U.K. and will enter the States soon. A new wound-care tool, launched in January, is poised to help caregivers monitor patients remotely. “Medical practitioners still need to be involved,” says CEO Yonatan Adiri. “We’re designing products that match the speed of life.”
The recognition from Fast Company is on the heels of CB Insights’ AI 100 list, where we were named one of the world’s most promising startups working in the field of artificial intelligence.
